New Applications

This application route is for candidates applying to join RoGEP for the first time.

Applicants are required to submit:

  • Application Form
  • CV
  • Three Year of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Records
  • Two Sponsor Statements
  • Application Fee

New Applications within 12 months of professional qualification

This application route is for candidates applying to join RoGEP at Technician, Practitioner or Professional grade within 12 months of achieving the relevant professional qualification through one of our affiliated professional bodies. The required qualifications for each grade are:

  • Technician Grade – EngTech
  • Practitioner Grade – IEng and AEng (Engineers Ireland)
  • Professional Grade – CGeol, CEng or PGeo (Institute of Geologists Ireland)

Applicants are required to submit:

  • Application Form
  • Support from the two sponsors of you EngTech/IEng/Chartership application
  • Application Fee (reduced rate)
  • Applicants applying within 12 months of becoming professionally qualified should also submit their original professional review documentation.

Within their application form applicants should cross reference each attribute with the relevant pages, paragraphs or sections of the professional report where it is demonstrated, together with a few sentences to summarise how this evidence meets the required attributes.

Grade Progression

The Grade Progression route has been developed for existing RoGEP registrants who have gained the requisite experience since their last assessment and wish to progress to a higher grade. It offers a streamlined application process for registrants whose competence has evolved over time, encouraging progression through the Register while maintaining RoGEP’s rigorous competence standards.

Applicants are required to submit:

  • Grade progression application form
  • Updated CV (covering experience since last RoGEP assessment)
  • CPD Records
  • Sponsor Statement
  • Application Fee
