Who we are

The Register of Ground Engineering Professionals (RoGEP) is the industry's recognised register of competent ground engineering professionals.

RoGEP provides an independently assessed benchmark of competence, enabling engineers and geologists to demonstrate their specialist knowledge, skills and experience in ground engineering.

The Register also helps clients, employers and project teams identify appropriate early stage, qualified professionals who can effectively manage ground-related risks throughout the lifecycle of a project.

Established by the Ground Forum, RoGEP was created with two key objectives:

  • To provide a recognised means for ground engineers to demonstrate their professional competence.
  • To assist clients in identifying suitably qualified and experience professionals to manage ground-related risks.

Today, the Register includes professionals from across the ground engineering sector throughout the UK and Ireland, ranging from technicians and practitioners, thorough to the industry’s leading technical experts and advisers.

Whether you are seeking professional recognition or looking to appoint a competent ground engineering professional, RoGEP provides confidence through independent assessment and industry recognition.

What we do

RoGEP provides a trusted, independently assessed register of ground engineering professionals for use by clients, employers and the wider construction industry.

The Register confirms that individuals:

  • Are Chartered / Incorporated Engineers, Engineering Technicians or Chartered / Professional Geologists
  • Have demonstrated specialist competence in ground engineering
  • Meet defined standards of experience, knowledge and professional judgement
  • Have been assessed through a rigorous, peer-reviewed process

RoGEP supports informed appointment, specification and assurance of competence across all stages of construction projects.

Why use a RoGEP Member?

Ground conditions remain one of the greatest sources of uncertainty and risk within construction and infrastructure projects.

Failure to identify, assess and manage ground-related risks can lead to increased costs, programme delays, design changes and safety concerns.

RoGEP provides clients with confidence that registered professionals have demonstrated the knowledge, skills and experience required to undertake tasks appropriate to their areas of expertise.
